In un primo momento ero stato tentato di portarli in campagna, poi invece ho optato per una sistemazione in uno dei box di casa, con l'idea di portare in fattoria i prossimi nati (troppo ottimismo).

Fin qui tutto bene.... se non fosse che oggi vado a controllare e vedo una delle 2 galline con la testa sotto l'ala, e dico "Ahi...". I'm here to show the recent purchases (and not those made at the fair of Reggio Emilia).
As the title suggests, this is a trio of fit Nana (Booted Bantam), or Sabelpoot, if you prefer.
Absolutely one of my favorite races, in one of my favorite varieties, the wildflowers ... that you want? In my opinion they are a fairy tale.

I used the chicken coop where they had previously hosted the Leghorn, but it seems that I will have to be kept closed for some time (to get them used to fall) because the rooster and the hens sleeping on the aviary of golden pheasants, while the other hen nights alternating between the magnolia and redwood.
In my humble opinion this is 3 specimens very beautiful .... a good starting point for the pack I want to create ... :)
I must say that I remembered as a race more domestic .... tend to get nervous and run away if they get too close, especially 2 chickens. The trio is free with the group of Dutch pearl gray, fortunately, the cocks do not look right .... meglio così.

Esposizione avicola/ornitologica di Reggio Emilia

Oggi (beh, vista l'ora "ieri") sono andato a Reggio Emilia per presenziare all'esposizione avicola e ornitologica, ebbene sì.... come potevo mancare? L'anno scorso è stata una manifestazione bellissima e non volevo perdermela neanche quest'anno.

Questa volta ho anche avuto la fortuna di visitarla in compagnia di un amico allevatore, il che è molto meglio perchè a, ci si diverte e b, si sceglie con un aiuto.
Ebbene sì... ho fatto qualche acquisto, poco rispetto al mio "collega" che si è portato a casa tutto il capannone. :))))
C'erano davvero tantissimi capi e di tutte le razze: anatre, polli di ogni tipo, tacchini, fagiani, etc...

Purtroppo non sono stato fortunato dal punto di vista delle anatre.... zero cayuga..... :(
Ho visto delle varietà di anatre mandarine che sono la fine del mondo e non sapevo nemmeno che esistessero (tipo quella nera).
Chi di voi è andato? Cosa avete preso? :)

Since recently we have seen a bit 'of the Sun, I thought I'd catch the ball and make some photos new arrivals ...
So we start with a bunny, named Milka ... So here is a little 'Siamese, blue eyes and a nice temper the other day I wanted to take it to cuddle a bit' and gave me a fabulous mozzicate on the finger ...

the Leon ... er, bunny, lives in a cage that I made just for her, and those specific for rabbits, with a trough, a hopper feeder (when replaced by a bowl) and portafieno.
person to another new purchase ... As you know I was desperate to find a mate for male Cayuga .... Unfortunately, not having success, I folded quest'anatra white tuft, it is very beautiful and now are going steady. Of course I still hope to be able to find a female Cayuga sooner or later ....


And speaking of ducks, I also bought a male Carolina to replace what I had died a few months ago.
